HC Deb 21 November 2001 vol 375 c289W
Mr. Page

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions what assessment he has made of the impact that the PUG2 Agreement will have on the interests of South West Hertfordshire commuters who use Silverlink services into London. [15806]

Mr. Jamieson

The Strategic Rail Authority have established a Joint West Coast Forum with local authorities, user representatives and Rail Passenger Committees along the route to ensure the concerns of Silverlink County passengers are understood and taken into account during discussions about the outputs to be provided under PUG2. Earlier this year the Authority commissioned Booz, Allen and Hamilton to undertake a study to consider both the commercial and wider economic benefits of providing additional fast line capacity for use by non-Virgin services. The results have been reported to the Forum.
