To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many women prisoners had a termination to a pregnancy during 2000; [15672]
(2) how many women prisoners had (a) stillborn babies and (b) miscarriages in each year since 1990. [15673]

Information about stillbirths and miscarriages is not available. In 1998–99, the last year for which the relevant data were collected centrally, 17 women prisoners were reported as having been referred for a termination.
