§ Mr. BlunkettThe Government are well aware of the statements made by the al-Muhajiroun organisation and any suggestion that these statements breach the law will be thoroughly investigated. To qualify for proscription under the Terrorism Act 2000, I must be satisfied in accordance with section 3 of the Act that an organisation is "concerned in terrorism". The Government are keeping under close review whether the activities of al-Muhajiroun bring that organisation within the requirements for proscription set out in section 3 and, if the conclusion is that this organisation is concerned in terrorism, I will give full consideration as to whether it is appropriate to recommend their proscription to Parliament.
