§ Angela WatkinsonTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what recent representations he has received from interested organisations regarding public/private partnerships.[11543]
§ Mr. Andrew SmithMinisters and officials regularly receive representations on public-private partnerships (PPP). It is for those making such representations to publish them if they so wish. It would not be appropriate to make public the terms of contractual negotiations in advance of contract signature. The general guidance on "Standardisation of PFI Contracts", published in 1999 and which is available in the Library of the House of Commons, is currently being reviewed by the Office of Government Commerce. It is hoped to issue a revised draft of this guidance for consultation shortly.
