Mr. Brady

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills which local education authorities had agreed new targets in literacy and numeracy for 11-year-olds by 26 October; and what the targets were in each case. [12090]

[holding answer 2 November 2001]: The new 2004 targets for literacy and numeracy will he agreed as part of the education development plan approval process in the early part of next year.
