§ The Prime MinisterOn 1 September, there were 5,284 staff employed by the Cabinet Office, of whom 175 staff were on the payroll of No. 10. Of these Cabinet Office staff, 2,458 worked in the Government Offices for the Regions.
Staff numbers of 1 May 1997 are not readily available and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
