To ask the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on the Committee on Standards in Public Life. [12434]

§ The Prime Minister
I am pleased to announce that I have appointed my right hon. Friend the Member for Islington, South and Finsbury (Mr. Smith) as a member of the Committee on Standards in Public Life with effect from 15 October. He is the member nominated by the Labour party and takes the place of Lord Shore of Stepney who sadly passed away over the summer.
