HC Deb 01 November 2001 vol 373 cc846-7W
John Cryer

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions if his Department can invite staff to remain in post beyond the normal retirement age; and what is the final age at which such staff must retire. [10148]

Mr. Nicholas Brown

In the Department, the final age at which all staff in grades below the Senior Civil Service must retire is 65. Staff have the flexibility of choosing to retire at any time from the minimum retirement of 60 up to the age of 65.

The retirement age for Senior Civil Servants is 60.
