To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how much will be spent on the Minimum Income Guarantee in each of the financial years between 2000–01 and 2003–04. [160156]

Expenditure on the Minimum Income Guarantee, in Great Britain, is estimated at £4 billion in 2000–01 rising to £4.5 billion in 2001–02, £4.6 billion in 2002–03 and £4.8 billion in 2003–04.
