§ Mr. Edward DaveyTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment how many day places were available for(a) children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and (b) autistic children in the United Kingdom(i) from 1990 to 2000 and (ii) in 2000–01. [155954]
§ Jacqui SmithInformation is not collected on the available places for children with particular categories of special educational needs. This would be impracticable because the majority of these children are educated in mainstream schools which respond to the unique needs of each of their pupils. Special schools will often also comnionly include a diverse range of pupils.
