§ Mr. DenhamThe modernisation fund was set up following the comprehensive spending review in 1998. Since then, investment in the National Health Service under the modernisation fund has totalled almost £4 billion.
The modernisation fund has been superseded by the additional funding secured as part of the spending review 2000 for investment in the delivery of the NHS Plan.
