What was the average rate of inflation in the year 2000 of the three best performing member states of the European Union; and what was the comparable rate of inflation in the United Kingdom in the same year. [HL1086]

The average inflation rate in 2000 was 1.3 per cent. The comparable rate of inflation in the UK was 0.8 per cent.
