The National Statistician has been asked to reply to your recent question about the number of mothers in employment in London, whose youngest child is under one year (152204). I am replying in his absence.The Labour Force Survey (LFS) shows that in autumn 2000, there were 48 thousand mothers in employment in Greater London whose youngest child was less than one year old.
