Ms Hewitt

This is a matter for the Chief Executive of Companies House. I have asked him to reply direct to the hon. Gentleman.

Letter from J. S. Holden to Mr. Roy Beggs, dated 1 March 2001I have been asked to reply to your recently tabled Parliamentary Question to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in respect of Companies House Executive Agency. The British Association for Shooting and Conservation Ltd is an industrial and provident society, and therefore is not required by law to file annual return and accounts with Companies House but instead with The Registry of Friendly Societies. The only entry with Companies House is on the index of names as required by the legislation. The Registry of Friendly Societies, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS, is the government department which has responsibility under the Industrial and Provident Societies Acts for the registration of industrial and provident societies.
