To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proportion of working age people did not have a qualification in spring 2001 according to the Labour Force Survey. [5955]

Letter from John Kidgell to Mr. Frank Field, dated 20 July 2001: The National Statistician has been asked to reply to your recent question concerning working age people with no qualifications. I am replying in his absence. (5955) According to the Labour Force Survey, in spring (March to May) 2001, the estimate for the proportion of working age people in the United Kingdom who did not have a qualification was 16.3 per cent.
