HC Deb 18 July 2001 vol 372 cc217-8W
11. Fiona Mactaggart

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what assessment he has made of the work of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission; and if he will make a statement. [2882]

Mr. Browne

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission is an independent body, and as such it is for the Commission itself to determine its work programme. It is not appropriate for me to comment on this. I do, however, welcome the start that the Commission has made in establishing itself, and hope that it will continue to build on this in the future.
