To ask the President of the Council what support the House offers to hon. Members to learn foreign languages; and if he will make a statement. [146729]

Members may fund appropriate language teaching for their staff through the office costs allowance; however, at present the House can offer no such support to Members who wish to learn foreign languages themselves.
