It is defined as expenditure on employees and running expenses less income from sales, fees and charges, internal recharges, and other non-grant income but it is gross of expenditure funded by specific grants. It is therefore not comparable with SSA sub-blocks which do not include specific grants. It is not possible to derive expenditure that is comparable with education SSA sub-blocks. 2 The net current expenditure data is not available for Halton, as we are still awaiting the receipt of their completed returns.
