Mr. Jon Owen Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions how many listed buildings are used primarily as places of worship, broken down by religious affiliation. [146323]

Mr. Alan Howarth

I have been asked to reply.

There are 14,802 listed buildings in England that are currently being used, or have previously been used, as places of worship. Our records do not provide a comprehensive breakdown of this figure by religious affiliation.
