§ Mr. Charles ClarkeThe receipts realised from confiscation orders in England and Wales were £13,002,000 in 1997–98 and £16,510,000 in 1998–99. Provisional figures for 1999–2000 indicate that £25,044,000 has been recovered from convicted criminals in respect of the proceeds of their crimes.
