§ Mr. McWilliamThe Committee of Selection is responsible only for the nomination of the departmental Select Committees and the Domestic Committees of the House, under Public Business Standing Orders Nos. 142 and 152. There are many other Select Committees, including the Environmental Audit, European Scrutiny, Public Accounts and Standards and Privileges Committees which are appointed directly by the House without prior nomination by the Committee of Selection, and upon which the Committee of Selection does not hold information.
