§ Ms Estelle MorrisIt is for schools, colleges and others to develop their own first aid policies and procedures based on an assessment of local need. My Department has issued "Guidance on First Aid for Schools: a good practice guide" which provides advice for schools on drawing up first aid policies and ensuring that they are meeting their statutory duties. It specifically advises that first aid training should include resuscitation techniques for children. I have asked HM Chief Inspector, Mike Tomlinson, to write to the hon. Member and to place a copy of his letter in the Library.
