HC Deb 26 February 2001 vol 363 cc567-8W
Mr. Quentin Davies

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what the location of HMS Shetland is; and what duties she is carrying out. [151281]

Mr. Spellar

HMS Shetland is currently in Portsmouth undergoing maintenance, having recently returned from patrolling the part of British fishery limits that has been closed to fishing vessels as part of the North Sea Cod Recovery Plan. She is due to go on patrol again on 12 March. The likely patrol location will be the Western British fishing limits.

Mr. Quentin Davies

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence which live firing exercises HMS Shetland has carried out in the past three months; and where these exercises have taken place. [151280]

Mr. Spellar

During the last three months, HMS Shetland has conducted two periods of live firing. The first took place on 14 February 2001 in the North sea, and the second on 23 February 2001 in the south coast exercise area.
