asked Her Majesty's Government:

Further to the Prime Minister's Statement on the Nice European Council on 11 December 2000, to what agreements and documents he was referring when he said that by 2006 the United Kingdom's net contribution to the European Union would be roughly equivalent to France and Italy. [HL446]

The Prime Minister was referring to the agreement reached at the Berlin European Council in March 1999 on a new system of own resources. The document is the Council Decision on the system of the European Communities' own resources dated 29 September 2000.
