To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions if he will list the major public transport projects being built in London, with starting dates. [22462]

The following major public transport projects are currently being built in Londonthe East London Line Northern Extension— work commenced on 3 December 2001, the channel tunnel rail link stage 2— work commenced on 2 July 2001, the upgrade of Kings Cross/St. Pancras London Underground Ltd. station—work commenced 6 August 2001, and the west coast main line upgrade, Euston approaches—work commenced spring 1997.
