Mr. Ivan Henderson

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what plans he has to open an embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. [24368]

We will open an embassy headed by a Charge d'Affaires on 20 December 2001. Until then our Ambassador in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) will remain cross-accredited to Tajikistan.
