To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what has been the change in spending per(a) primary and (b) secondary school pupil in Bassetlaw since 1997; [21212]

(2) what the average spending per pupil is in Bassetlaw in (a) primary and (b) secondary education compared to the national average. [21304]

The information requested is submitted to the Department according to local education authority areas, rather than districts within an area. Bassetlaw is a district of Nottinghamshire Local Education Authority. The information for Nottinghamshire LEA is as follows:
