§ Mr. Spellar[holding answer 24 April 2001]: The shortfall of trained pilots based on the frontline strength and establishment of specific aircraft types on 1 March is as follows:
Aircraft type Pilot shortfall Sea Harrier FA2 5 Harrier GR7 9 Tornado F3 12 Tornado GR1/GR4 18 Jaguar 3 Notwithstanding the shortfalls, all operational commitments are being met.
