§ Ms QuinAnimal carcase incinerators, including those operated by pet crematoria, were exempted from the provisions of the Waste Incineration Directive on the proviso that controls providing for high environmental38W standards are included in the EU Animal By-Products Regulation. This Regulation will replace the Animal Waste Directive.
It is the intention of the UK to negotiate controls on animal carcase incinerators that are proportionate to the health and environmental risks, while safeguarding their continued use.
