§ Ms Quin[holding answer 10 April 2001]: 42,750 applications made to the Ministry for aid under the Arable Area Payments Scheme have been paid representing £852,219,681.92.
A further 44,116 AMC 2000 1st Tranche payments with a total value to date of £28,275,505.01 has also been paid to farmers.
