§ Dawn PrimaroloIn the light of representations received following the introduction of the package of enhanced tax reliefs for charities in Budget 2000, Budget 2001 announced that the Government would consider the best way for tax relief to help community amateur sports clubs that a make a positive contribution to their local communities. The Government will work with key organisations from sport and the voluntary sector to draw up detailed proposals over the next few months, which we will then publish for a period of wider consultation later this year. The Government will announce firm proposals in the light of consideration of the responses we receive.
