§ Mrs. BeckettThe overwhelming majority of the recommendations of the Select Committee on Modernisation of the House of Commons has been implemented. Rules relating to the conduct of Members in the Chamber and to access by the press have been modernised and the House is experimenting with a parallel chamber in Westminster Hall, revised sitting hours on Thursdays, programming of legislation and deferred divisions.
