§ Baroness Scotland of AsthalWe have raised the general issue of aerial bombing with the Government of Sudan on many occasions, most recently with the Sudanese Foreign Minister during his visit to London in July. We have also raised the case of the bombing of a school in the Nuba Mountains with them.
President Bashir has announced that he has ordered the cessation of aerial bombing of targets in the South except where there is active fighting under way. We welcome this and look to the Government of Sudan to honour it.
