Dr. Lynne Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the minimum and maximum times are for a business case submitted by an NHS trust in(a) the West Midlands Regional Office and (b) England and Wales to receive funding, differentiating between PFI and non-PFI schemes. [134721]

Mr. Denham

The timetables for the submission of outline business cases (and initial strategic outline cases for major schemes) are decided on a case by case basis by National Health Service Executive regional offices. If approved to test for funding options (public capital or the private finance initiative) then NHS guidance gives indicative timetables for major and non-major schemes for the preparation and approval of the full business case.
