As National Statistician I have been asked to reply to your recent question about the availability of employment statistics by Employment Service area.The Annual Employment Survey, which is the current source of data on numbers of employee jobs, is no longer analysed by Employment Service Area. The geography was discontinued several years ago. The latest information for the available geographies (e.g. Local Authority districts) is for September 1998 and may be accessed from the NOMIS database in the House of Commons Library.
