§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Lord Hunt of Kings Heath)Individual research studies' and meta-analysis'- of similar studies have been carried out in both the United Kingdom and the United States. These indicate that, when used appropriately, CE/Kitemarked condoms significantly reduce the risk of transmission of HIV (the virus that causes AIDS).
