§ Miss Melanie Johnson[holding answer 23 November 2000]: The Chancellor visited Canada on 30 September 1998 to attend the Commonwealth Finance Ministers' Meeting and on 24 October 2000 to attend a meeting of G20 Finance Ministers. On both occasions he had a number of additional bilateral meetings. No other Treasury Ministers have visited Canada since May 1997. The information requested on visits by officials is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
