The two United Kingdom officers on secondment to the Council Secretariat are a Major General, who is Head of the interim Military Staff and a Wing Commander, who is a staff officer. The interim Military Staff serve the Council of the European Union. The United Kingdom pays the salaries of the two officers on secondment.
