HL Deb 14 November 2000 vol 619 c31WA
Lord Laird

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why a proportion of the extra funding made available to the railway systems in the United Kingdom to improve safety does not apply to Northern Ireland Railways; and whether railway safety in Northern Ireland has a different priority for them compared with railway safety in other parts of the United Kingdom. [HL4464]

Lord Falconer of Thoroton

Responsibility for this subject has been devolved to the Northern Ireland Assembly and is therefore no longer a matter for the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.
