HC Deb 02 November 2000 vol 355 c586W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what assessment he has made of the implications of Article 15 of the draft Charter of Fundamental Rights for disqualified company directors. [134819]

Mr. Vaz

I have been asked to reply.

The charter will be a political declaration of rights, freedoms and principles and is not legally binding.

Article 15 reiterates the right to freedom of movement of workers, freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services in any member state guaranteed by the Treaty establishing the European Community.

I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave the hon. Member for Stone (Mr. Cash) today, column 555–56W.
