HC Deb 01 November 2000 vol 355 c516W
Mr. Matthew Taylor

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to his answer of 28 July 2000,Official Report, column 1011W, concerning taxation of incomes exceeding £100,000 a year (a) what assumptions underlay his estimate of an increase of £200 million per annum for subsequent years and (b) when he will next be able to update the information in his answer. As stated in the previous reply, the estimates were based on the Survey of Personal Incomes and are consistent with the economic assumptions at the time of the March 2000 Budget, as published in the "Economic and Fiscal Strategy Report and Financial Statement and Budget Report".
