This incentive scheme is being introduced in England from September 2000 to boost recruitment to teaching by attracting more applications from graduates for initial teacher training. Northern Ireland has not experienced the same shortage of graduates applying to become teachers and there are therefore no plans at present to introduce similar incentive arrangements
