Whether they will extend the remit of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence to Northern Ireland; and if not, why not. [HL2183]

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has a remit for the NHS in England and Wales. Parallel arrangements for the production and dissemination of guidelines for the Health and Personal Social Services in Northern Ireland have still to be finalised.
