However, a survey undertaken by the Office for National Statistics, "The National Prison Survey 1991" by Tricia Dodd and Paul Hunter (available through The Stationery Office), of persons held in prisons in England and Wales at the beginning of 1991 found that, of those inmates interviewed (around 3,800), 62 per cent. had lived with both parents for most of their childhood. Comparable information for other years is not available.
