§ Mr. Mike O'BrienThe Representation of the People Act 2000 allows local authorities to make applications to run pilot schemes involving innovative electoral procedures. Five local authorities will be piloting electronic voting or counting at the local elections on 4 May 2000 though none of these schemes involves internet voting.
