§ Clare ShortOur Government played a key role in brokering the agreement on the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 1999. We have contributed $1 million per annum for the last two years to support ILO programmes to eliminate child labour and are working with the ILO on projects to eliminate child labour in India and Tanzania, and to restrict trafficking in children in South-East Asia.
