§ Yvette CooperGeneral practitioners record on fee claim forms the following information relating to miscarriage services: patient name (except in cases for emergency treatment where the doctor decides not to ask for the patient's name) date, expected date of confinement, place of treatment or whether the patient was transferred to hospital, date of discharge from hospital, and date of last service provided by the doctor.
The Department does not routinely collect data on miscarriage statistics from health authorities. Health authorities make their own arrangements for reviewing miscarriage statistics where appropriate.
