§ Mr. Mike O'BrienNo date has yet been set for the announcement of the new city. 39 applications have been received for the Millennium grant of city status from towns in the United Kingdom. Each application is being considered on its individual merits and a recommendation will be made to Her Majesty The Queen in due course on which town should be honoured.
