§ The Prime MinisterThe Government receive a variety of suggestions for additional bank holidays to celebrate special occasions. However, it was felt that another additional bank holiday, following so soon after the Millennium bank holiday, would be inappropriate. This followed consultation with the Royal Household who were content with the decision.
