HL Deb 07 June 2000 vol 613 c157WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have evidence that any exports from Russia or the Baltic States to the United Kingdom of timber and timber products constitute "dumping"; and, if so, what action they are taking. [HL2591]

Lord Sainsbury of Turville

Complaints of dumping are investigated, and decisions on any anti-dumping measures are taken, at the Community level. If they have evidence of dumping, it is for the industry, if they so wish, to approach the European Commission. Antidumping measures are currently in force on imports into the Community of hardboard originating in a number of countries, including Russia and the Baltic States.
